About me.

When I’m not immersed in a project, I enjoy recharging my batteries rock climbing.

On my downtime, I enjoy recharging my batteries rock climbing or playing hockey.

My name is Alyssa Garza and I am a Product Designer and Researcher based out of San Antonio, TX. I currently work with Edenred, leading the design of a full suite of consumer and administrative products as well as their mobile apps.

I believe in pursuing purpose over passion within one’s work. Passion burns fast and hot; purpose is what pulls you through during the hard times when motivation is low. I aim to bring a strong sense of purpose to every project and opportunity.

I’ve volunteered my time as the Executive Director for the Texas Climbers Coalition, and I am a Texas Master Naturalist.

I graduated in 2013 from UIW with a degree in Experimental Psychology, minoring in Sociology.

Business Years

In 2015, I went on to purchase, own and run my own business: a performing arts studio with over 200 students and 18 staff members. I poured my heart into growing the studio, including an extensive online re-design, and in December of 2018, I sold the studio at great profit so I could pursue a career change into UX.

I took on freelance projects to grow my ability to further apply my knowledge to the real-world.

Design experience

I have been working as a full-time Product Designer since 2019.

During that time, I have led an organization-wide research initiative, working with product owner, project managers, developers and stakeholders to bring research methods to the forefront of our design and application decisions.

I have redesigned back-end software, and built two products from the ground up. I have assisted in the expansion of two more products. I have contributed to the creation of our organization’s design system language, and have been there from day one through its first release and further iterations.

I apply my trials and tribulations of owning a business, my knowledge in psychology and experience with analytics and statistics, and my constant pursuit of learning to always create the best product I can.
